'I Have Strings' is a documentary drama written, produced and performed by New Vic Borderlines.

It offers personal perspectives drawn from experiences of people living with mental illness recorded in oral history interviews.

In 2019, 'I Have Strings' toured the North West of England. The drama was performed at five schools and colleges, the New Vic Theatre (twice) and the University of Huddersfield. The combined audience at these events was 1040 people.

Objects and quotes from 'I Have Strings' are used in the 'Bag of Tricks' workshops to build empathy and stimulate discussions about mental ill-health and wellbeing.
